Hamas said it had responded on Friday in "a positive spirit" to a U.S.-brokered Gaza ceasefire proposal and was prepared to enter into talks on implementing the deal which envisages a release of hostages and negotiations on ending the conflict.

Hamas has reportedly responded positively to the U.S.-arranged Gaza ceasefire proposal. Earlier this week, President Donald Trump said Israel agreed to conditions to finalize a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza.

The Hamas militant group said Friday it has issued a "positive response" to a U.S.-mediated ceasefire proposal​ in its war with Israel.
