Chelsea have confirmed that Raheem Sterling has left the club by "mutual agreement" as he seeks a new club in January. The Blues' misfit has finally departed Stamford Bridge, with his last competitive appearance for the club coming in May of 2024.
The veteran winger is reportedly prepared to slash his wage demands.
Raheem Sterling has left Chelsea after a mutual agreement was reached to terminate his contract. The 31-year-old had been left out of Chelsea’s senior squad all season and had been training away from the first team. His last competitive game for the club was in May 2024.
Though Chelsea has taken an extreme stance on Sterling, some of the fans at Stamford Bridge are more forgiving.
Chelsea coach Sonia Bompastor has said she is "really confident" she will still be in charge of the club for next weekend's clash with Tottenham Hotspur, despite Sunday's humbling 5-1 defeat to Manchester City.
