Emergency services have delivered an update on the fallout from ex-Tropical Cyclone Narelle, as crews work to restore access to a hard-hit tourist town.

In the popular tourist destination, it appears the category four cyclone has chewed up and spat out whole sections of the Ningaloo Reef onto dry land.

Tropical Cyclone Narelle has now made landfall on Western Australia’s North West Cape, bringing with it severe wind gusts and heavy rainfall. While it has now been downgraded to a category 3 warnings are still being issued for residents to shelter indoors as the cyclone takes hold.

Fresh warnings have been issued to communities sitting in the crosshairs of Tropical Cyclone Narelle which has already wreaked havoc across two Aussie states.

Fruit and vegetable producers in one of Western Australia's key food growing regions are counting the cost of Cyclone Narelle, with one banana grower reporting more than 80 per cent of his crop has been destroyed.
