Virginia GOP chairman stepping down after drastic losses in November elections

Virginia state Sen. Mark Peake said Monday he is stepping down as chairman of the Virginia Republican Party, citing a need to focus on next year’s legislative session. Peake stepped into the position earlier this year after President Donald Trump nominated former Chairman Rich Anderson to be the Air Force’s assistant secretary.

Virginia certifies 2025 General Election results

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia’s State Board of Elections has certified the results of the 2025 General Election. On Monday, Dec. 1, the Virginia Department of Elections announced on social media that the votes for the November General Election were certified.
