New 24-hour snowfall totals from the National Weather Service in Cleveland show more than a foot of snow in parts of Cuyahoga County, with heavy lake effect accumulations across the snowbelt and east side.

Notice the colder air building for Sunday in the western Upper Peninsula. This will be the Arctic cold that invades lower Michigan Sunday night and Monday. It looks like the weekend won’t have terrible road conditions, but also not perfectly dry road conditions. We can also consider this weekend “balmy” compared to what is coming next week.

A pair of storm systems sweeping across the country this week will bring snow, ice and thunderstorms, forecasters said.

Bands of lake-effect snow are forecast to continue in Northwest Indiana Thursday. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for Porter County until noon. ABC7 Accuweather Meteorologist said an additional one to three inches of snow is possible.
