46 years ago today, America entered a new chapter with the release of 𝘚𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘓𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳, the band’s 8th studio album. This was the group’s first album following the departure of Dan Peek. Released on June 15, 1979, the album marked the band's shift from acoustic folk rock to a more contemporary rock sound. It was the last of six consecutive America albums produced by George Martin.
