Here's a few timelapses of the snow moving into Peoria in the last hour. It really illustrates the quick top-down saturation that took place to get the snow to reach the ground. Top-down saturation is the process in which falling precipitation saturates the air beneath it. The initial bands of precipitation evaporate, which in turn increases the humidity. Over time, the air saturates enough for the precipitation to reach the ground. This is why the snow has a sloped look to it as it's falling. P
